GoKarting Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you use the GoKarting app, and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you. We use your personal data to provide and improve the Service; by using it, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
In this policy, “the Application” refers to GoKarting; “the Developer”, “we”, “us” or “our” refers to r3id (United Kingdom); “you” means the individual using the Service; “Personal Data” is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
What we collect
Personal data. While using the app we may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to: your email address, first and last name, and an optional profile photo.
Usage data. Collected automatically when using the Service: device type, iOS version, unique device identifiers, IP address and other diagnostic data.
Location data. With your prior permission, we collect your location to show nearby karting venues on the map and to verify that you are physically present at a venue when checking in. Location is only used while the app is in use. It is never sold, shared with third parties for advertising, or stored beyond what those features need. You can enable or disable location access at any time in your device Settings.
How we use your data
We use personal data to provide and maintain the Service (including monitoring usage), manage your account, contact you by email or push notification about updates or important communications, handle your requests (including issue reports submitted through the app) and for data analysis and improving the Service.
We may share personal data with service providers who help operate and improve the Service; in connection with a merger, sale or acquisition of all or part of our business; or for any other purpose with your explicit consent.
Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy. Typical periods: account information is kept for the duration of your account plus up to 24 months after closure; support correspondence for up to 24 months from closure of a request; usage and diagnostic data for up to 24 months. When retention periods expire, we securely delete or anonymise the data.
Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside your country, where data protection laws may differ. We take all reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this policy.
Deleting your data
You have the right to request deletion of the personal data we hold about you, from account settings inside the app, or by contacting us directly. We may need to retain certain information where we have a legal obligation to do so.
Disclosure
If the Developer is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your personal data may be transferred; we will provide notice before it becomes subject to a different policy. We may also disclose personal data where required by law or valid requests by public authorities, or in the good-faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or property of the Developer, prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing, or protect the personal safety of users.
Security
We strive to use commercially reasonable means to protect your personal data, but no method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party service providers
The service providers we use may have access to your personal data and process it in accordance with their own privacy policies: Apple Maps and Supabase.
Children’s privacy
GoKarting is designed for karters of all ages, including those under 13, as karting is a family and junior sport. The app has no messaging, social networking or user-to-user communication features. We do not knowingly collect more personal data from minors than is necessary to provide the Service (account registration and check-in), and we never sell, share or use data from users under 13 for advertising or anything beyond the app’s core features. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided more than this, contact us and we will remove it from our servers.
Links to other websites
The app may link to websites we don’t operate (such as track websites). We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, their content or privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will notify you by posting the new version in the app or by email. Changes are effective when posted.
