ReptileCare Privacy Policy
ReptileCare is designed with privacy in mind. This policy explains what information the app does and does not handle.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not collect, access, transmit to ourselves or share any of your information. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party integrations. Your data belongs to you and syncs only through your own iCloud account.
Your data and where it lives
Everything you record in the app (your animals’ details, feeding logs, temperature and humidity records, shed and weight history, care schedules, notes and any photos you add) is stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your personal iCloud account.
iCloud sync and backup
ReptileCare uses Apple’s iCloud to back up your data and keep it in sync across your devices. This data is stored in your private iCloud database, protected by your Apple Account and encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest. We have no access to it: iCloud sync happens directly between your devices and Apple, and Apple’s handling of it is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
You can turn iCloud sync off for ReptileCare at any time in your device Settings under your Apple Account’s iCloud options. Note that deleting the app from one device does not remove data already synced to iCloud or to your other devices.
Notifications
If you enable care reminders, these are scheduled as local notifications on your device. No notification content is sent to us or to any external service, and you can disable them at any time in your device Settings.
Photos
If you choose to add photos of your animals, ReptileCare asks for access only to the photos you select. Photos are stored with your records and sync through your iCloud account like the rest of your data. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
Network access
ReptileCare connects to the internet solely to sync with your iCloud account. No other network requests are made, and the app remains fully usable offline, syncing when a connection returns.
Children’s privacy
ReptileCare does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
